There is a better way. There is Hope.
It's called the United Earth Republic (The UER), and it's more than just a dream. It's a legitimate plan that just needs enough of us to believe in it to make it work.
We believe that the Earth, our Earth, should be run by one Nation - a parliamentary democracy actually built by and for the people.
We believe that everyone is entitled to Universal Education, Universal Healthcare, and Universal Basic Income.
We believe that everyone is entitled to the protections outlined in the UN Charter of Human Rights.
And we believe that if 51% of everyone in every nation says they want this, then this is what should happen!
And here is how we're going to make that happen:
Step 1: The majority of every current nation on Earth needs to agree that it wants to be represented by this new global Republic.
This is a peaceful movement.
We will earn our new nation by showing that it is truly the will of the people -- all people everywhere. To prove this, we will convince 51% of every nation (of people 18 years old and older) to agree to be YES on the UER!
To record everyone's votes, we will use an App that will be available on all platforms in order to make it as accessible as possible. And anyone who is a YES on the UER! will be able to record their vote in a way that is secure and distributed.
During this time, our volunteers will work hard to gain approval within each nation's respective frameworks to accept the will of the people (through amendments and referendums).
Step 2: When enough of us are Yes on the UER!, we will have our first global election! The world will be split into voting Districts of 1 million people each. This will be done fairly and equitably.
Anyone who lives in a District can run for Minister of that District.
Candidates will be able to use the app to disseminate their campaign materials. After 6 months, we will have our first election.
Step 3: Our first global Parliament will then be automatically convened. It will then work closely with the world's old nations to peacefully transition the planet to its new single Sovereign Nation within one year: The United Earth Republic.
